Chapter 1

I could feel the warmth of the sun as I sat on the edge of Fox Hill looking at the sunrise. Everything was moving slow. The wind, birds, even the clouds. The flowers below were in bloom of purple, red, yellow and blue. “Fastkill! Fastkill!” barked my sister Sun. “We will be late to eat if you dont hurry up! You know how much i hate being late!” Opening my eyes i could see the sun was up and high. Turning around i found myself face to face with her. “Come on!” she moaned. “Fine.”
We raced back to the dens. As I ran I could feel the warm summer breeze running down my fur. I felt like I could fly like the eagle. Mildew grass covered my paws as we came to a stop. Something didn’t seem right now. Everything at the dens looked gloomy. No one was outside. No voices heard. All was quiet and lonely. “What happened?” I asked Sun. I turned to look at her and she was as surprised as I was.
Usually the pups would come running out to see you but no one came. Not one.
